CPTC has licensed McAfee VirusScan for use on all Microsoft Windows computers on the campus.

To remain effective, VirusScan must be updated regularly. If you do not have a current version of VirusScan and the Virus Definitions, your PC is at significant risk from a computer virus.

To check the version of your VirusScan:

1. Open the Start menu.

2. Select Programs.

3. Select McAfee VirusScan or Network Associates (depending on your version).

4. Open McAfee VirusScan.

5. Pull down the Help menu.

6. Select About.

The currently supported version of VirusScan is 8.0i.10.

If you have Windows 95/98 and you are having compatibility problems you may try using VirusScan 4.0.3. Note that this compromises some functions with Office 2000 and is not able to remove some recent worm programs.
